Recently Girl Scout troop 918 visited the Center and gave a wonderful donation to our children.
They created play boxes for our TLC program. The boxes were filled with items and toys
 that help children develop their sensory and motor skills.
The Teaching and Learning for all Children (TLC) project is a family centered, strength-based program in which the primary goal is
to empower families with all their special needs. TLC serves families with children 0-5. The program came to life 3 years ago as
Westside Children’s Center was awarded the First 5 California Special Needs Demonstration Project Grant.
TLC is a work in progress , taking every opportunity that comes its way to benefit families with young children.
 Working with Girl Scout Troop 918 was an incredible opportunity to continue to promote interactions
between parents and children. The families that come our way often times lack the basic resources
to engage in activities with their children, given these “play boxes”
is one less barrier and many more opportunities.
