Kids Giving Back
On Saturday, May 22nd, JennyBec’s hosted its first Milk and Bookies Event at their delightfully dazzling and charming, kid friendly store in Brentwood, CA benefiting the kids of Westside Children’s Center. Milk and Bookies is a non-profit agency that “teaches kids to give back by using books as currency.” They teamed up with JennyBec’s, who graciously agreed to host the event and chose Westside Children’s Center as the beneficiary of their generous endeavor.
This unique, fun-filled event featured amazing children’s books, arts and crafts, yummy cupcakes, mouth watering mini-grilled cheese sandwiches and of course, milk and cookies. Kids and adults picked out their favorite books, inscribed a personal message and happily deposited their books into the donation bin for Westside Children’s Center. These wonderful donors also had the opportunity to learn more about WCC and where their donation was going. Our little donors (and their parents) were thrilled to share their favorite books with the little clients of WCC.
Westside Children’s Center received over 100 books with titles such as Knuffle Bunny, The Giving Tree, and Harold and The Purple Crayon. Customers also donated boxes of toys to the children of WCC and although the event is over, JennyBec’s has agreed to continue accepting donations on our behalf. Overall, the Milk and Bookies Event was a fun-filled and inspiring afternoon enjoyed by all.
