Foster Care

What is the purpose of foster family?

Every day children are separated from their families in order to protect them from abuse and/or neglect. Children need stability and loving care to grow into healthy, self confident and successful adults, especially when they have been removed from their homes. Foster families provide temporary, nurturing homes while families work to resolve difficulties and reunite family members in safe and supportive environments.

Foster parents are the keys to success for foster children. There is a great need for foster parents on the west side of Los Angeles so that children who must leave their families must not leave their community as well.

In order to become a foster parent, you need only the desire to provide for the physical and emotional needs of a foster child. You can be married or single, be childless or have children, or work outside the home. We provide extensive training to help you explore all aspects of becoming a foster parent. Once certified, you will be a part of the team along with social workers who help the child rebuild his or her life. We provide free medical and dental coverage and a monthly allowance for the child. We welcome all prospective foster parents, regardless of race, religion or non-traditional parent circumstances.
