WCC recruiting eligible families for Early Head Start Program


                                                                                       
                                                                                                                               

The Early Head Start (EHS) program is for low-income infants, toddlers,
pregnant women and their families. EHS programs enhance children's
physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development; assist pregnant women to access comprehensive prenatal and postpartum care; support parents' efforts to fulfill their parental roles; and help parents move toward self-sufficiency.

WCC is thrilled to offer two EHS programs starting April1, 2010:

1. Center Based Services: for infants and toddlers up to age 3 living in Culver City zip code 90230

2. EHS Home Based Services: For pregnant women, infants, and toddlers through age 3 living in Inglewood zip codes: 90303, 90304, 90305, 90056

a. weekly in - home visitation
b. positive learning experiences
c. socialization activities
d. support groups
e. mental health services
f. health services
g. disabilities services for children

Eligibility is based on family need and income. Total household income must be within federal poverty guidelines. Documents needed to complete an application:

1. Child’s Birth Certificate
2. Documentation of household income
3. Proof of current residency (utility bill, CA ID/Driver's License, etc.).

Children with disabilities or special needs are encouraged to apply to both programs.
